“Electric Dreams” is one of those lost and forgotten gems that so many have either missed or misunderstood over the years. As one fan on Twitter noted, “Why has this film not had a cult revival yet? It's one of those movies you just have to be glad exists.” Back in February 2010, when I revisited the old VHS videotape I have of "Electric Dreams", it dawned on me then that this would make an excellent theatrical production. I took down some mental notes at the time. Then I searched online to see if this concept had been 'seeded' anywhere before. I found a Facebook tribute page ( This one, before I became its administrator) where fans discussed their opinions of a remake. But there was no mention of a Broadway-style musical production.
